I tańce. I ogólnie dobra zabawa. Muzyka jednak zawiodła i około 1 zamówiłyśmy taksówkę, Andreea i Anda pojechały do domu, a ja z Rominą dołączyłyśmy do chłopaków na mieście.

On Friday we finished work at 2 pm, because at 18 we had a party organized by the company, with the presentation of the last fiscal year’s results and plans and goals for the upcoming one.
And after the official part of the evening, we would have open bar and snacks. And dancing, and having fun with people from work. Unfortunately, open bar was to be opened only after the official presentation, and I really would have appreciated a shot of vodka or a strong drink before that. And there was a simple reason for that need for alcoholic drink. The presentation was in Romanian, and it lasted 2 hours. So even though Andreea and Anda were translating simultaneously from time to time, I was extremely bored. And I didn’t even have any nice games on my mobile. (By the way, this wasn’t the first time something like this took place, I always get official e-mails only in Romanian, a training of using a new tool to log on holiday was in 90% in Romanian, and if there is somebody outside from my team eating lunch with us, the conversation is almost always held in Romanian. So in such case, I really started to appreciate the policy of HP, where the official language was English, so all the e-mails were in English, sometimes translated into Polis, all trainings, meetings, conferences, etc., were in English only [although sometimes there wasn’t any foreigner, but still such was company’s policy]). So for me, 2 hours listening to business presentation about the history of Oracle’s centre in Bucharest, being sober, was quite a challenge. Fortunately, then it got partly compensated with the snacks and cake. The drinks also helped (although we all suspected that they were watered, because after drinking 3 cuba libre and 4 vodka pineapple, I didn’t feel any effect). People, being outside of the office, looked more relaxed and were enjoying themselves. But music sucked a bit, so at 1 we decided to call a taxi. Andreea and Anda went home, but me and Romina decided to join the guys. I don’t quite get why the Portuguese people enjoy so much going to Club A, but this time again, it was where they went. I have to mention that it is a student club, and me and Romina, all dressed up and with high heels, we were totally out of place. We stood out in a crow so much, that we were let in without paying the entrance.

The next day, instead of sleeping it off, we had to get up at 10, as at 11 we were going to see an apartment. We could have as well stayed in bed, as it turned out to be another scam of a real estate agent in Romania. First, they had sent us pictures of really fancy flat in a nice area, so we had informed we would like to see it. Then they took us to that nice area, but showed us a flat that looked nothing like the one from the photos. Afterwards, we showed the guy the photos he had sent us, and he pretended to look surprised and admitted it was another flat, and we would see it o Monday. We’ll see if he is gonna call us, as it seems a rule that real estate agents promise one thing, and do something completely contrary. Today we tried to call a private announcement, to avoid the tricks of estate agent. We already had called her, and after interviewing Nuno (where we were from, where we worked, etc), she had said to call her on Sunday to make an appointment. Nuno called at noon, she apparently was still sleeping and told him to call at 2. And then she stopped answering. Normal behaviour for somebody who wants to rent a flat, right? Anyway, our adventures with flat hunting deserve a separate post. As soon as we can rent something, I will describe all the troubles we had.
On Saturday evening we went with Nuno, Sergio and to the Old Town for a drink and dinner. After that beer, and us, tired, went home but Romina and Sergio didn’t call it a night and still had the energy to go clubbing.
