Gotowanie i egipskie klimaty/ Cooking and Egyptian atmosphere

Musiaśmy jednak wytrzymać do soboty. Bezcenne.

Wracając do pichcenia. Spontanicznie zrobione danie: nadzienie z kurczaka, bakłażana, papryki, ciecierzycy I sosu pomidorowego, włożone do libańskich naleśników.

Ilona z Madą i Oktawem zaliczyli jeszcze potem clubbing, ale my, nudna para, wróciliśmy do domu.

Basically, the weekend was dominated by eating and drinking. It started on Friday with planning what to bake with Ilona, at Ilona’s place (cause our oven just can’t take that much, when you finally manage to turn it on, every time you open the door, the goes out, and there is no thermostat). I sent to Ilona some links to some cooking blogs, so she can see the various recipes for strawberry tart. Seeing the receipes with photos of tasty cakes wasn’t that good idea, cause it was all we could think of for the next few hours. And we had to wait till Saturday to finally put the receipe into the action of baking. After seeing another flat (the owner is to decide if she wants us and agrees with our terms), we went directly to the Carrefour in Unirii, were we met with Ilona to buy all the necessary ingredients. Cause we not only wanted to bake a tart, but also to make some tasteful lunch.
We bought so much food that on Sunday, after voting for the new Polish president, we were to eat at Ilona’s place again to helpo her to empty the fridge. And afterwards, we couldn’t even move. On the way to Ilona’s place we entered a small, cheap shop selling household articles, and to our surprise they had an ice crusher (well, it was manual one, but still, I had been looking for one for weeks), and it cost only 23 lei. Such a small thing, and and made me so happy:) And thinking about all those nice drinks I can make with Licor Beiraoall the mojitos and caipirinhas, well that is priceless...

Returning to cooking and baking project (that seems like something more regular thing). This time it was only us, girls, cooking, Nuno was talking to his parents on skype ... We spontaneously made some innovative dish: in the Libanese sort of pancakes, we put the mix of chicken, eggplant, peppers, chickpeas and tomato sauce. We baked it with mozzarella cheese, unfortunately they only had the romanian once, which according to Ilona smelt like horse. This time it is use, not the guys (see the post about the picnic food), that we prepared something very challenging to eat. It was falling apart when we tried to put it on the plate, but still it was so delicious:) And for dessert we made multi-fruit tart instead of strawberry one, cause unfortunatelly neither in Carrefour not on the way to Ilona’s place, did they sell strawberries. So in near future we still have to make some tart with strawberries, cause we have in mind all those pictures from the cooking the blogs.

After the hearty meal, we went back to the apartment to take a shower and change, cause at 19 we were meeting people from my team at the Egyptian bar for drinks and nargila. Afterwards Mada and her boyfriend joined us (Mada is Ilona’s friend from Iva’s work), but since my team vanished quite early, it was just 5 of us that went to another bar. First, we went to a bar that was empty (because now everyone in the weekend run to the sea), but had nice music. So we stayed there till, after 30 minutes of entering, the security wanted to charge us 10 lei for the entrance, so we decided rto change the venue. Then the taxi driver told us that the club, to which we wanted to go, is closed and took us to another. A club called Downtown, looked (and probably in fact was) like strip-bar, where girls dressed as nurses were showing their attributes (meaninh asses and boobs). It looked as though they were doing it as some kind of punishment and not for money, cause their dance was far from being sexy, sensual and exciting. And there was one „dancer” that was verweight and looked really kind of out of place ther, and also bit disgusting in her dance poses . After drinking very expensive beer, we left. Ilona and Mada and Octave went clubbing, and us, the boring couple we went home.
