Kolejna wizyta/ Another visit

Jakiś czas temu przyjechali do mnie kolejni goście z Polski, Kasia z Kubą.

Some time ago Kasia and Kuba finally visited me. They arrived in a quite remarkable way: in blue Volkswagen beetle from 1974, which was something amazing and surprising on Romanian roads, dominated mostly by Dacias. Since I had to work, this time I didn’t participate in a usual sightseeing tour of few Bucharest’s attractive spots. I just gave them some advices of how/ what/where to see/eat,etc. And in the evenings I was listening their impression on Romania. I was ashamed to realize they had seen more during their trip than me, who in this country for 7 months.

From funny stories they told, I remember one about a hostel in Ordea (if I remember correctly), where they stayed. It was a beautiful building in art deco style, but was bit ruined. There they saw the Romanian style of saving money on revovation: mold on the walls was covered with white sheet of paper attached to the wall by scotch tape. They were complaining also on bad shape of Romanian roads and lack of signs of orientation, but on the other hand they were surprised how nice and helpful were the Romanians, and how well they spoke English.

I haven’t seen Kasia for ages, so we caught up talking for hours. Those 3 nights they spent at our place passes so fast, but as in Bucharest there are really not that many things to see it would be illogical to stay longer in the capital.
