Mój team i integracja/ My team and integration

Kolejny tydzień pracy za mną. Choć praca to za dużo powiedziane. Na razie jestem w fazie uczenia się, ale jeszcze przed oficjalnym szkoleniem, które zaczyna się w poniedziałek. Jeśli miałabym opisać, jak wygląda typowy dzień (bo niestety nie ma różnic między jednym a drugim), to wygląda on tak: Pobudka o 7.30, szybkie śniadanie, prysznic, przygotowanie się do pracy, szybki spacer do metra, około 9 (czasami kilka minut po, bo się nie zdarza, żebym była przed czasem) wchodzę do budynku Oracle, herbata i przywitanie się z wszystkimi, szybkie przejrzenie wiadomości na gazeta.pl i tvn24.pl. Potem rozmowa na temat lunchu i próba podjęcia jakiejś decyzji, czyli gdzie i co zjeść (o jedzeniu będzie inny post bardziej szczegółowy). Potem obserwacja mojej mentorki, czyli Andrei z teamu francuskiego, która wzięła mnie pod swoje skrzydła (chyba nie miała innego wyjścia) i tłumaczy mi zawiłości naszej pracy. W międzyczasie godzinna przerwa na lunch i rozmowa z ludźmi, a na tych nie mogę narzekać, bo na prawdę się odnajduję tutaj. I to dzięki ludziom właśnie. Tylko czasami, przy większej kumulacji moich rumuńskich kolegów, rozmowa zaczyna się toczyć po rumuńsku, ale wtedy skupiam się na jedzeniu. I po chwili się ktoś reflektuje i mogę uczestniczyć w konwersacji. Potem powrót do zajęcia obserwatora i tak do 18. Oczywiście nie zawsze tak wyglądać będą moje dni w pracy. Już w poniedziałek zaczynam szkolenie, wiec będzie zupełnie inaczej. A potem zacznę prace już na serio, to tez będzie odmiana i pewnie będę tęsknić za czasem, kiedy nie miałam żadnych obowiązków.

Z tego co zaobserwowałam, to robi się tu więcej przerw na kawę, papierosa, cokolwiek, do tego przerwa lunchowa trwa aż godzinę (ale przez to wydłuża się czas pracy). Dla mnie osobiście 20 min to czas wystarczający na zjedzenie czegoś i jeśli wtedy mogłabym wyjść wcześniej, to bym tę opcję wybrała. Niestety, jest to niemożliwe... od 17.30 tak de facto nikt juz nie pracuje.. sprawdza się youtuba, facebooka, idzie się na ploteczki i papierosa, a o 18 większość jak na zawołanie wyłącza komputer i wychodzi.

Co więcej mogłabym powiedzieć o ludziach, z którymi pracuje? Niestety na razie spotykamy się tylko na gruncie zawodowym, do wspólnych wypadów na piwko jeszcze nie doszło... O mojej team liderce juz pisałam, jest na prawdę fajna i pomocna, jak coś nie działa, to wystarczy, że raz się jej powie i ona już to załatwi (nie to co w HP, gdzie do końca mojej pracy nie miałam skonfigurowanych kilku narzędzi potrzebnych mi do wykonywania mojej pracy). Ogólnie nasz team jest bardzo młody. Został stworzony, gdyż Oracle podjęło decyzje, że cały dział credit and collection (kredytu i ściągania należności) powinien być w jednym miejscu, to jest w Bukareszcie. W związku z tym przejmujemy zadania lokalnych „poborców”. Innymi słowy, żebym ja miała pracę, ktoś w Polsce ją straci (z tego co mi powiedziano nastąpi to dopiero za jakiś czas).

Wracając do składu mojego teamu. W jego skład wchodzą następujące osoby i kraje, dla których pracują: Andreea (Turcja), Anda (Serbia, Chorwacja, Słowenia, Bośnia), Radu (Rosja, Ukraina, Kazachstan), ja (Polska oczywiście). Do tego od początku maja ma dojść Amelia (Czechy i Słowacja), a potem jeszcze 2 osoby odpowiedzialne za Grecję. Jeśli kogoś interesuje, jak wygląda moje miejsce pracy, to załączam zdjęcie. Jak to typowe dla korporacji, jest to otwarta przestrzeń, która ma dać poczucie większej bliskości zarówno pomiędzy pracownikami i oczywiście umożliwić menadżerom nadzór i kontrolę pracowników.

Jakiś czas temu miała miejsce integracja zespołowa (czyli oprócz naszego teamu jeszcze 2 inne), ale dopiero teraz o tym pisze, bo czekałam aż Ramona (moja team liderka) przyniesie zdjęcia z tego wieczoru, żeby "moi czytelnicy" mogli zobaczyć z kim pracuje. Impreza integracyjna, wydarzenie tak typowe dla wielkich korporacji, miała oczywiście na celu poprawę integracji zespołu i motywowanie ludzi. Ale nie mogę narzekać, bo było naprawdę milo i miałam okazję bardziej poznać wszystkich. Podobno wyjście zespołowe miało się odbyć wcześniej, ale Ramona ze względu na mnie poprosiła, żeby było jak już dołączę do teamu. Tak więc pierwszy tydzień pracy zaczął się imprezowo :) No i mogłam się napić kilku niezłych koktajli (jeden bezalkoholowy, pychotka, zobacz zdjęcie) na koszt Oracle. I zobaczyć jak wygląda Hard Rock Cafe w Bukareszcie.

Nie spodziewałam się, że dwa dni po imprezie znowu trafię w to samo miejsce. Ale byliśmy na spacerze w parku, przy którym Hard Rock się znajduje i Nuno tak nalegał, żebyśmy właśnie tam zjedli lunch, ze nie miałam wyjścia i musiałam się zgodzić... Tym razem niestety bez pycha wyszukanych napojów, bo przekraczały lekko nasz budżet, ale miejsce mamy odhaczone i pewnie sami z siebie już tam więcej nie trafimy.



Another week of work behind me. Although the work is too much said. For now, I'm in the learning phase, but before the formal training, which starts on Monday. If I had to describe what it looks like a typical day (because, unfortunately, there is no difference between the two), it looks like: Wake up at 7.30, a quick breakfast, shower, prepare for work, quick walk to the subway, about 9 (sometimes several minutes after, because it does not happen, I was ahead of time) go to the building Oracle, tea and welcome to all, quickly scan the news and tvn24.pl gazeta.pl. Then talk about lunch and try to make some decisions, that is, where and what to eat (the food will be another post more detail). Then observe my mentor, a French team with Andrea, who took me under his wing (unless you had no other choice), and explains to me the intricacies of our work. In the meantime hour break for lunch and conversation with people, and those I can not complain, because the truth is I don't have any problems adopting to the new environment. And it is precisely because of people. Only sometimes, with the greater accumulation of my Romanian colleagues, the conversation begins to take place in Romanian, but then focus on eating. And after a while, someone to consider the matter, and I participate in a conversation. Then return to classes as an observer and to 18 Of course, not always look like will my days at work. Already on Monday I start training, so I will be completely different. And then I begin to work now in earnest, it will also variety and I will probably miss the time when I did not have any responsibilities.

From what I've observed so far, and what is concerning the difference between working in Poland and Romania, I think that people here generally take more coffee breaks, breaks for cigarette, or break to chat or any type of a break from work. Then the lunch break lasts up to one hour, or even more . Of course I am also taking those small breaks at the moment, but then automatically I should stay longer at work of I haven't finished my tasks. And also, for me personally, 20 minutes is enough to eat something and then if I could leave early, I would chose this option- to shorten my lunch break and leave earlier. Unfortunately, this is impossible ... But on the other hand, from 17.30 nobody is actually working, you see people checking YouTube, Facebook, taking another break for coffee&cigarette and then when it is 18 sharp, you see majority of the people turning their computers off and getting out of the office.

What more can I say about the people that I work with? Unfortunately, so far I only know them from work environment, as we haven't grabbed a beer together. As I wrote before, my team leader is really nice and helpful. And in case something isn't working properly or I have some issues regarding anything, she is really interested in solving my problems. Which is such a change after working in HP, where nobody really cared and where till the very last day of me working there I still had some applications that I needed to perform my work that weren't working. But getting back to the subject, my team is a very young one. It was created because Oracle has taken the decision that the entire credit and collection department should be located in one place, that is, in Bucharest. In consequence, we are taking over the responsibilities of local collectors. In other words, in order for me to have a job here in Romania, someone in Poland has to be let go (from what I've been told it is not happening till few months from now). Getting back to my team. It consists of the following persons and countries for which they work: Andreea (Turkey), Anda (Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia), Radu (Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan), me(Poland, of course). At the beginning of May, there is one girl more coming, Amelia (the Czech Republic and Slovakia), and then another two persons responsible for Greece. If someone is interested how my office looks like, you can see pictures attached to this post. It is an open space office, so typical for corporations. It is supposed to give a greater sense of proximity, both between employees and managers, and for the latter, to enable them to monitor and control their subordinates.

Some time ago our great corporation organized us an integration party (for our team and two more). I haven’t written about that, cause I was waiting for Ramona (my team leader) to bring the photos from that evening, so that "my readers" could attach face to people about who I write here. That integration party, an event so typical for big, important, international corporations was to improve the spirit of our team and to motivate people, of course. But I can’t complain because it was really nice and I had the opportunity to know better the people and to talk with them in a more relaxing atmosphere. Apparently the whole event was schedule for few weeks before, but Ramona asked them to postpone it a bit and wait till I joined the team. So during my first week of working in Oracle, I had the chance to drink at their expenses :P (they have really good cocktails in the Hard Rock Cafe in Bucharest, where we went to integrate.


I didn’t expect that two days after , I would end up at the same place. But by coincidence we went for a walk to the park in which the Hard Rock is located and Nuno insistent really that we had lunch there and when I say insisted, I really mean that, so I had no choice but to follow him. (It seemed that it was a favourite place for families with children, as it was really crowded and small kids were all over the place. ) So now we can check out another “hot spot in Bucharest” , and probably won’t go there anytime soon.
